Frequently Asked Questions

Lighthouse English Academy brings private tutoring, live group classes, and a complete book-based curriculum together in one place, for learners from Kindergarten through Grade 6.
Depending on the program and level: foundational vocabulary and phonics, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, speaking, and higher-level “deep reading” of real novels. Older students can work up to TOEFL-level material.
Our curriculum is built on signature series — like Cinnabunnies (early vocabulary), Grammar Hammer Adventures, Writing Quest, Reading Compass, and Deep Reading with Roald Dahl. Each carries a child through a stage of their journey.
Yes. Our Reading Compass: TOEFL Intensives and intensive tracks build the reading and test skills students need, layered on top of a strong reading and writing foundation.
Kindergarten through Grade 6. Our kindergarten programs are designed for ages 5–7, and elementary programs span Grades K–6.
Both. We offer live online classes (one-on-one and small groups) as well as flexible monthly memberships you can follow at your own pace — so you can pick what fits your family.
Our 1:1 Intensive is fully one-on-one. Group Intensive classes are kept small — up to four students — so every child gets real attention.
Because so much of the curriculum is available in your dashboard, students can keep moving between live sessions. Talk to us about scheduling and make-up options for your specific program.
Lighthouse Plus memberships give ongoing monthly access to a grade band’s full book curriculum — ideal for steady, year-round practice without a fixed class schedule.
They range from gentle kindergarten mornings and after-school groups, to flexible book memberships, to intensive one-on-one and small-group coaching. The Programs page lays each one out with grade range and format.
